Yesterday I tweeted that I often lose to sets. I want to briefly discuss why this happens.  Let’s assume that a tight player only opens with the top 10% of his hand range. According to Poker Stove, his range is {88+,A9s+,KTs+,QTs+,AJo+,KQo}. There are 6 combinations of pocket pairs, 16 combinations of unpaired cards, and 4 combinations of suited cards.
