The Mets have runners on first and second and Tim Teuful hits a shallow fly ball that both runners think will drop. The runners take off but Andre Dawson of the Cubs makes a shoestring catch and throws the ball to first base for an inning ending double play just as the runner from second crosses home plate. The Cubs realize that this run will count and that they need to appeal to second base. However, they had already crossed the foul line on the way to their dugout before 2nd baseman Ryne Sandberg takes the ball to touch 2nd base. Does the run count?
